Over 100 attendees from all over the world help celebrate Studsvik’s 70 year Anniversary in Nyköping, Sweden
'Studsvik would like to thank all who took time to journey to our celebration, making it such a memorable event, befitting of Studsviks 70 year history.
It was an honor to Studsvik to have our good friends from far and near join us. We hope you all enjoyed the afternoon and evening!
The celebration began with a lunch buffet followed by a presentation of Studsvik - “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” by Studsvik CEO, Michael Mononen.
Studsvik was also honored to have two distinguished key note speakers: Hans Blix, former Director General of IAEA and Eva Halldén, General Manager of Swedish Nuclear Fuel and Waste Management Co,
Hans Blix provided a positive message of the continued need for the peaceful use of nuclear technology to improve society and Studsvik's long, successful, history of innovative support in further development of nuclear technology, not only in Sweden, but globally.
Eva Halldén, provided an overview of Sweden's leadership in the world in developing a final repository for spent nuclear fuel in Sweden. The site selection and technologies are moving forward and decisions expected soon. Eva complimented Studsvik for its collaboration in helping to address the final storage of spent fuel in Sweden.
The formal presentations concluded with Studsvik overview summaries of Studsvik's three business areas, Fuel and Materials Technology, Consultancy Services and Studsvik Scandpower.
