“At Studsvik we are strong at keeping our solutions simple but high value”
A friend of her elder brother advised Carolina Losin to apply for a position at Studsvik. She got the job and started her career within the company as electron microscopist, a role where she experienced many of those daily challenges faced in a hot cell laboratory working on highly active materials. After some years managing fuel Post Irradiation Examination (PIE) and reactor test projects she was appointed Head of the Fuel Projects Team in 2009 and since September 2018, she is part of the Studsvik sales team.
Can you describe what your role in Studsvik includes?
“The formal title is Key Account Manager and this mainly involves being the single point of contact for some of our main customers for ongoing and future work. My current position allows me to have a broad coordinating role both internally and externally, which I really enjoy. I must confess that I am rather generalist than specialist material, which is perfect for the responsibilities I have.”
Describe something Studsvik has supported a customer with that you are especially proud of.
“I find it hard to pick one single item, the team at Studsvik have made me proud so many times over the years. Especially how we together solve complex tasks on tight time schedules in an environment that requires high safety and quality standards.”
Tell us a great thing about Studsvik?
“One of the best things with Studsvik is that almost no day is like the other. The mix of all fantastic colleagues with different backgrounds and personalities is a true success factor for Studsvik. I think this is why we constantly develop our organization and offerings and, in this respect, Studsvik is something extraordinary in my view. “
What is innovation to you and how does it influence your work?
“For me innovation is to find the absolute simplest solution to a problem instead of creating an ultra-complicated design. It is like writing, expressing your idea in 100 words is much harder than in 1000 words. At Studsvik we are strong at keeping our solutions simple but still with high value.”
