Studsvik UK were honoured for the second time as winners of the Engineeing and Construction Industry Sector at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) 2011 Occupational Health and Safety Award banquet. The ceremony was held on 18th May and the award was presented by RoSPA President Lord Jordan of Bournville CBE and RoSPA Chief Executive Tom Mullarkey MBE.
This is the 5th consecutive year the outstanding health and safety record of Studsvik UK has been recognised on a national level by RoSPA. In 2007 and 2008 the company won Gold Awards, in 2009 Studsvik UK won the prestigious Engineering and Construction Sector Award for the first time and were highly commended in this category in 2010.
“To win this prestigious Sector Winner award twice in three years is an amazing achievement for the company and speaks volumes of our excellent health and safety record” says Sam Usher the company’s President.
Initiatives such as Employee Assurance Observations, Safe to Work Strategy and the company’s Simplyhealth Scheme are all part of Studsvik UK’s Behavioural Health and Safety Programme, which has helped to ensure a continuous improvement in our safety culture.

RoSPA is a safety charity that launched its awards programme 55 years ago.
